Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know anything about lacrosse to play?

No prior experience is required or expected.  We will teach the basic skills necessary to play.

Do I need special equipment?

Yes. The equipment for the boys and girls are different. For the girls, you will need a mouthguard, goggles and a stick. The girls stick is different from a boys stick, there is a shallower pocket.

The boys need a lacrosse helmet, mouthguard, chest protector, elbow pads, gloves and a stick. Sticks can be cut shorter in the 1/2 division. At the 5/6 level, defenseman sticks can be 5' in length (caller Tiger poles). At the 7/8 level, defenseman sticks can be 6' in length.

TRYLax provides every team with goalie equipment. If your son/daughter is interested in playing goalie full time, reach out and we can help you with what will be needed.

Visit the equipment page for more details.

Where can I purchase a uniform?

Uniforms (partial or full) can be purchased during the registration process. Once registration closes the league will order the uniforms in bulk. Uniforms will be delivered to players by their coaches in advance of the first game of the season. Optional uniform related items (bags, sweatshirts, etc.) can still be purchased via the links below.
